(this post was made from my LJ blog to explain why I don't post there anymore)

For those whom come here to see more on me, go to http://thephilonline.com

That's my journal now. A wordpress blog that I host, a lot more I can do with it and I love it. I simply keep my LJ for posting when I don't have access to my primary blog and for community stuff like http://community.livejournal.com/octranspo/

Updating while at work...

I just found out that my buddy Craig is having his bday night this Friday so I must cancel going to Kingston this Friday. Sorry my friends in Kingston, I'll make my way to Kingston another time. Only person that might be a lil down is Allison as she's going to Jasper (Ithink?) and won't ever get to meet me. How can one be happy with a life where one cannot even meet The Phil? Tis life I guess. I hope you have a safe trip Allison and we'll keep in touch online. As for Craig's bday. I haven't hung out with him for almost 2 months I think, it's gonna be fun. We're goin out drinking or something, woot.

Aside from that change of plans, work is dead tonight, glad about that. About an hour between calls. Hopefully stays this way all night, perfect for my last shift of the week.

Oh, I'm hoping to dye my hair black in the next 2 days. Say bye to the blue for now. I'm also experimenting with my facial hair. It grows horribly, kinda patchy and slow but I'm gonna let it grow and see how it looks. Let me know how you like it people.

I intend to record an episode of The Wrong Direction this week. Idunno if I'll record anything while out with Craig and others but if I do, I'd like that to be the show after. I'm thinking I'll record a tech predictions show. I have my predictions from last year and the year before. I have a general idea what my predictions were but I am not reading them again until I film the show. I will also make some new predictions for the world of tech. I'm not bad at being an analist. We'll see if I'm able to record that show this week. If not, it will be soon.

Half way through watching WWE Raw last night, great show thus far. If Wrestlemania is as good or better, I'll be happy.

I don't really have anything more to talk about so I'm out.
If I have more to say, I may post again later.

I had recently put my second ticket to the TNA event up for grabs (as long as they paid for the ticket) within my circle of friends, a few friends shown interest but as I said to each, whomever confirms first can buy the ticket and go with me. Well one of my friends stepped up and confirmed so the ticket is off the market. Sorry to those friends who were interested but couldn't give an answer yet. You can still go but you'll have to buy a ticket online or by phone; check my events and go to the tna event page, it has a link to where to buy tickets. If you go, hitme up so we can meet up there. The fired who decided to buy my other ticket is Joe, it's gonna be fun Joe, woot! I'm interested in going out to eat before or afterward but that's up to Joe as he's driving. Let me know Joe.

I'm gonna start using my livejournal account to post notes to my facebook since I can't get into facebook at work. If you see one of these (possibly) odd looking notes, it's due to my posting it on livejournal and have my posts automatically imported to facebook. I like knowing tech shit, lol.

For those who used to follow me on here, I am a facebook addict now, just like everyone else. To get there, just go to http://www.thephilonline.com

if you add me to your friends on facebook, send me a mssg to tell me who you are, lol.

My friend Samy got a pretty awesome billboard display. Check it out. Just posting this to support my buddy. Though don't be surprised if they take it down to put a big post of The Phil there.... or not. lol

What a stressful night...
There are nights when I feel like I'm a model employee
Than there is last night where everything feels like it's going downhill
Overall everything is okay but I had my worst call yet last night and nothing turned it around.

Aside from last night's hellish shift,
I managed to get my cell phone plan changed
I'm now paying like $15 less and get unlimited txt mssging on top of what I was already using from my previous plan.
I feel great about that.

I've got a special project to work on this weekend.
To say that I'm going to be busy on my 3 days off is an understatement
It's basically investing in potential...
That's all I will say for now.

Current Mood: blah blah

Working overnights is a lot of fun.
Downtime between calls is 30-45 mins on average.
We're allowed to play videogames and are given more freedom in general than the day crew.
I picked up a wireless receiver and charger for my xtra 360 controller and put some videogame emulators on my laptop for work, hehe.
My bus home takes forever... Gotta find a different bus to take.
My new manager is a really nice guy so I'm happy there.
I'm getting used to the overnight schedule, thank gawd.

I booked off June 9th for a new promotion's wrestling show in Ottawa.
they're gonna have a battle royal, ladder match and a lot more.
It's run by a guy at my work that I have yet to meet.
Idunno who I will go with to it but I don't care either, I'm going no matter what.
For more info: http://www.wrestlinginottawa.com

This weekend, I plan to go see 300 in the imax.
I haven't seen it yet and I want to see it in the imax before spiderman 3 replaces it.
If anyone is interested in going with me to see it, let me know asap.
I plan to go one night within this Sunday-Tuesday.

That's all for now,
I'll try to do a vlog on Monday or Tuesday but no promises.

One of my old and most popular youtube videos has been featured on the blog of a XXX telephone operator. Her quote: "Someone sent me this and I had to share.........". I thought it was funny but the connection is understandable. You may be wondering what video I am referring to... Well, I recently made it private because I don't want to lose my job over it, haha. Those whom may have seen it when it was active, know it as "Medium Pace". If you're a friend of mine and want to see the video in question, feel free to ask. I just had to share, I found it interesting. Shout out to Morgan Lovecraft,:-p

First thing's first, I changed ThePhilOnline.com so that it points to my facebook profile. My facebook profile is the one stop place for everything phil. I'll still update LJ cause I use it for any big updates as the LJ rss feed is feeding into my facebook. Any lil journal posts, I post through Twitter which is feeding through my facebook page as well. Smartest, most efficient way to do it.

I'm done training and switching to overnights at Dell. I get a 12% premium and I'll be working 4x10 shifts. I'm a happy camper. Luckily for me, my new schedule starts Wednesday night so I get 5 days off in total to lax and adjust my schedule. It's been so difficult to change around my schedule. I was just getting used to the one I had. I'm gonna stay up all night tonight until my dentist appointment tomorrow morning at 8am. I'm gonna be tired as hell by the time I get home but then I will sleep and my schedule should adjust better. Now if I am really tired round midnight tonight, I may just go to sleep for 5 hrs, wake up, dentist, come home and try to nap or something. the first option is the better choice but I hate feeling insanely tired. I feel good to go to overnights though. Not too worried about technical skills cause there's always a backup and last resort to all problems. My main problem to deal with will be adjusting to my new schedule. As for the rumored 45min downtime during overnight shifts, I have a Nintendo DS Lite now so I'll have that to play with.

For those wondering, my schedule is Wed-Sat 9:30pm-8am

When I got my DSlite, I picked up
- Puzzle Quest: Such a great game. It's like a traditional RPG but battles are done through a puzzle game identical to bejewelled but 2 players using the same board. It reminds me of a traditional turn based RPG + bejewelled + magic the gathering.
- Mario & Luigi Partners In Time: It's a fun good RPG/puzzle game.
- Pokemon Diamond: The same great game it was on the gameboy but with a 3d snes sprites upgraded look and a lot of new features. I like that you don't have to use the touch screen but can if you want.
- MarioKart: Already had this game but I thought I would list it anyway cause it rox, lol.

I'm not playing my Wii much at all. Why did I buy it you ask? Cause I wanted to capitalize on the great deal and it's fun to play with the family. I still consider my 360 my main console of choice. Also, I haven't used my PSP for over 5 months, lol. The PSP was quite a failure for sony unfortunately. I think if they were to have made it with a harddrive and open to a lot of flexibility, then they would have had a hit machine. Problem was though is the whole harddrive to play games thing is ahead of it's time and sony doesn't like too much flexibility in their devices as it can lead to problems with pirating and hacking. I would bet anything that the next gen systems, like 4 years down the road, will be hard drive based where you download the games or install them off a disk. By then Terabyte drives should be at the 100$ price point, if not less.

That's all for now

In this vlog, I talk about work, videogames, the upcoming souls of strife premiere and more. Stick around for the Souls Of Strife movie trailer at the end.

Hey my peeps, update time...

My PC - Okay, to update on my last post, I fixed up my comp. After the mess of trying to install vista but having some issue I couldn't deal with, I reinstalled XP but messed up because set it up without reading one of the drives. I decided to reinstall XP. I fixed the drive problem and all is well in Phillytown when it comes to that. I also set up my vista laptop right next to my pc though I don't use it that often.

Work - Work is going well. I get me schedule tomorrow for my shift change in 2 weeks time. Hope I get a good shift.

My teeth - I had booked a dentist appointment but due to lots of pain, I was able to push it up to today. I went in and they fixed the problem. It was an exposed root, they fixed it with a filling. It's supposedly 50/50 whether everything will be fine or it won't and I'll need a root canal... fun. In any case, I still have my appointment booked for friday the 13th (yes, haha, lucky me), that appointment will be for my check up and cleaning. It is likely that at that time, they will book me for another appointment for fillings and/or whatever other shit needs done. Thank gawd I have 90% coverage. What I had done today was $176, I only pay $17.60... SCORE!

Gaming - I got my Wii finally. It's fun and I got my family into it. I have more to say but not right now.

There's not too much else to talk about...

My video game wish list
This is a list of the games I am looking forward to and will by buying when tey are released.

Bust-A-Move - Wii - My family and I are big bust a move fans and it's coming out for the Wii in about 2 weeks. I'll be buying it when I get my next paycheck.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl - DS - I don't mind admitting that I have been looking forward to this game for years. It looks like I won't get it when it's released because I'll also need to buy a ds lite at the same time and money will be tight if I do that on the release so I'll wait a few paychecks until it's better off to buy... either that or I'll get pokemon and play it on my brother's ds phat for a while until I get the lite.

Spiderman 3 - Xbox360 - Biggest spiderman game to date and it looks like it will have a lot of added features and long game play. Should be worth buying. It comes out early May, same day as the movie. Maybe I'll buy the game, hit the movie and come home to play the game, awesome.

Mass Effect - Xbox360 - Lots of hype over this game as those who are making this game are the same that made the Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic games. This game is looking amazing and will likely be out May/June. I will pre-order it and have the day it releases, lol.

Spore - PC - Maybe Xbox360 - Maybe Wii - The no 1 game on my list. This game has the most hype out of any game out there (aside from maybe halo 3). I'm so looking forward to this game that I am waiting to buy the components of what will be my new pc because I want to base my PC on what it's best to have to play spore.

Grand Theft Auto 4 - PS3/Xbox360 - Coming out around October and it's a must have. It's next gen GTA, of coarse I'll pick it up.

Burnout 5 - Xbox360 - This will be the racing game to blow all other racing games out of the water. At least I hope and I have lots of confidence in this future game.

Smackdown Vs Raw 2008 - Xbox360 - I get every single game of this series, it's no doubt I'll get this one.

TNA Impact - Xbox360 - First TNA game and developed by Midway. I'm looking forward to seeing what they bring to the table.

Those are the games I guarantee I will buy within the year.
Sure I may be forgetting one or 2 games but that is the list off the top of my head.

If you want to disable your username@livejournal.com email addy, just enter "set no_mail_alias 1" in your Admin Console.
This is a good tip in case you get spammers using your LJ addy to send you shit.

I had a horrible problem with spammers spamming my email constantly due to them getting a hold of that email addy.

I messed up and tried had the 64bit vista downloaded, not the 32bit. So now I await the download of the 32bit version. I'm gonna see if I can install the 32bit version on my laptop to replace the 64bit that is currently on their to possibly fix the audio diver error. We'll see. This 32bit download is gonna take about an hour and a half so I won't vista tinker tonight but I will burn the iso to the disk tonight so that I can tinker tomorrow.

The museum/imax event has been postponed so I'm just gonna sit back, lax and vista tinker tomorrow.

Note to everyone
I'm upgrading my pc to vista
Something may go wrong
Don't be surprised if I'm not online for a while
Cross your fingers that everything goes smooth.
Yes, I've installed vista before, but my pc is tempramental.
Wish me luck...

Current Mood: nervous nervous

My first 2 days on the phones at Dell have been really good.
My first day yesterday had me number 1 in the class overall for the day.
I was proud of it but I'm not a big fan of being pointed out as being top of the class.
What I bring to Dell is excellent customer service, that's what I care about, not being on top of a list.
As long as my customers are happy, I am happy. Fuick the list, lol.
Today, my second day on the phones, I feel I did better.
No, I'm not going to be anywhere near the top of the list for today.
Like I said, I don't care about that.
I took an irate customer and made him happy about choosing Dell.
That made me happy and even if I found out I was last on the list of my class, I'd still be happy.

Aside from gaining confidence at work, I'm getting a Wii this week.
That's if it comes in this week. Depends if they get a Wii shipment.
I already paid for it in full.
Hopefully when I pick it up, I can also grab...
- Wii Play (game with bonus wiimote)
- A nunchuck controller
- and an extra game (not sure which one yet, i'll decide then)
I'll also need to get an sd card but I'll get that from tigerdirect or some other place.

My weekend coming is pretty much booked
Thursday night or fri night I may hang with Twiggs to shoot a video and shoot the shit.
Friday I will watch my sister all day and take her to a movie.
Saturday I have set up an event for [info]ottawasingles, museum and an imax movie, fun times, woot.

Aside from that, work as per usual.
Oh and money isn't as tight as before so I can start enjoying life a lot more.
Thank gawd!

From Kung Fu Cinema

Canadian MA flick to premiere

In Theaters | by Mark Pollard | 2007.03.26

Ghettorade Entertainment has announced a release date for their indie martial arts actioner JAMIE AND EDDIE: SOULS OF STRIFE. It will be premiering on May 27th at the Bell Canada Theatre in Ottawa, Canada.

The story revolves around a secret school where students are trained for warfare. James Lebeouf and Edward Jackson Jr. are two competing honor students whose educations are jeopardized as their feud gets worse.

SOULS OF STRIFE is directed by multi-talented, 21-year-old independent filmmaker Pascal Aka who is also credited as writer, producer, composer, and co-star. Aka is presently a film student studying in Ottawa, but he is originally from Ghana, Africa.

Action and fight sequences were choreographed by Ottawa native Dennis Lafond who also co-stars. Aaron Thompson is credited as stunt coordinator.

Trailers, credits, photos, soundtrack samples, and a video introduction by Pascal Aka are available at the official site.

Quick vent...
I get home from work
I go to my room to lax after a nerve racking day
I find rootbeer spilled on my floor, into my clothes, over top of my xbox charger kit...
I blow a gasket. I get pissed off, trying to figure out what happened.
I yell at my sister, I yell at my parents.
I figure out that my sister brought something of mine to my room and left the door open.
Either her or the cat ended up knocking over a can of root beer I had not finished from the night before.
I get pissed at my parents for this as it's their kid that caused it.
My father owns up to sending my sister up with my belonging
I get pissed at him for being impatient, not waiting till I got home to ask me to bring it up to my room.
My mother says something stupid as shit saying that it's my fault the root beer was in my room...
Stupid fucking shit... I told her "Yah, it's also my fault that my computer is in my room so you wanna go upstairs and throw my computer out the window and blame that on me too?"
Then she has to nerve to say "well you can move out anytime you want"
What fucking stupid thing to say. You can't win an argument, can't accept fault so you go and threaten me?
FUCK YOU!
That really pissed me off.
So I'm not only angry that I have to come home to root beer all over, a sticky floor to clean up but also that my parents are fucking idots and that I have to deal with all this shit after a stressful day.
Fucking hell.
I really will not miss this shit when I move out later this year.
Good riddance.

The following is an article that was in this week's newspaper about the [info]octranspo community I created and includes some quotes from me as well. Kool stuff.

BUS DRIVER MAN

Thinking of becoming a bus driver and want to know what daily life might be like? Or maybe you're just interested in reading tales of SUV strollers barricading passengers, space cadets who refuse to remove their purses from extra seats on crowded buses, or creepy people who insist on sitting beside you when the bus is otherwise empty - look no further than the OC Transpo blog on the Livejournal community.

Started by Ottawan Phillip McMillan three years ago, the site now has hundreds of lurkers and members. The appeal? According to McMillan, people finally have a way to vent their frustrations.

"Of course there are going to be more complaints than compliments, that's just human nature," McMillan adds. "You can complain to OC Transpo, but they never tell you what happens to that complaint or if others have complained about the same thing. This way people don't feel so alone and can get tips from other riders."

But it's not just a place to bitch. For every two or three complaints there is at least one story of how a driver made someone's day. Take for example the famous singing bus driver. Every few weeks, someone posts a comment about a singing bus driver sighting.

And if you ever had a question you wanted to ask a driver but were afraid to get a blank stare - or worse - this is the place. Several drivers on the site provide insight as to what it is like to have pedestrians dart in front of a moving bus, passengers who have not grasped the concept of having their fare ready and drivers with death wishes. A recent post had drivers sharing stories of being offered things like candy, a bucket of KFC, baked goods, beer or sexual favours from passengers looking for a free ride.

The site can also keep you updated on all the latest transit news and has lively debates about the direction the city is going, or rather, not going.

So, thinking of becoming a bus driver? Or maybe you've got something to complain about or a compliment to make? Visit community.livejournal.com/octranspo. (Julie Fortier)
